Mission

Mission Statement:  “To build a fitting public memorial dedicated to those D.C. Metropolitan Police officers who lost their lives while performing their duty and to establish a Metropolitan Police Museum to preserve their legacy and the history of policing in the Nation’s Capital.”

Vision Statement:
“To raise necessary funds to build, operate and maintain a police memorial to honor D.C. Metropolitan Police officers killed-in-the-line-of-duty and to build, operate and maintain a D.C. Police museum for the purpose of generating increased support of law enforcement and to educate the public about the rich history of the Metropolitan Police Department, while also promoting law enforcement safety.”

Motto:  All gave some. Some gave all.

Official Purposes:
The purpose of the Fund is to design, build and maintain through contributions a memorial named “The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Memorial” and to re-establish and maintain through contributions, a museum named the “D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Law Enforcement Museum,” or other appropriate name chosen by the Board of Directors.  The Fund will undertake appropriate public awareness programs to educate the public about the valuable service performed by the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department. In order to further these ends, the Fund will solicit funds, sponsor benefits and engage in lawful and appropriate fundraisinq activity, consistent with the provisions and requirements of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and any other applicable statutes and/or regulations.
